Classes

• Classes meet once per week for 45 minutes
• Make-up classes are permitted.
• In each class children wear costumes over their leotard and tights (costumes provided by studio)
• No need to purchase costumes!
• Parents provide children with leotard, tights, ballet shoes. These can be purchased in our Ballerina Boutique!
• Boys are always welcome! Each story has a special costume for a prince, king, animal, etc.
• There are no recitals, as each class provides an opportunity for children to wear costumes and act out stories.
• There will be a parent's day on the last day of your child's regularly scheduled class.
• Our studio has a spacious lobby with a large viewing window.
• Lastly, children enter the studio through their own magic fairy door!

Once Upon a Time With Mommy - Pixies (Ages 2 - 3)

Tiptoe, twirl, and dance together in this magical mommy and me ballet class!

Share this special time with  your child as her favorite stories come to life through creative ballet and pretend play. Every 'Once Upon a Time with Mommy' class incorporates adorable props, such as teddy bears, baby dolls, and colorful streamers.

Toddlers and grown ups alike will learn basic ballet steps and terminology, such as: Plie', Tendu, Pique, and Arabesque. After story time, children will dress up in a variety of simple costumes, including animal ears & tails, fairy wings, and soft little tutus.

Fairies (Ages 3 - 4)  or  Princesses (Ages 4 - 6)

Skip down the yellow brick road as Dorothy, splash under the sea as Ariel, or twirl at the ball dressed as Cinderella! Our enchanting Fairytale Ballet classes include a new magical story dance each week!

Both Fairies and Princesses will warm up with fun, creative stretches, learn basic ballet positions, perform traveling ballet steps across the floor, and practice simple combinations with props such as teddy bears, scarves, and magic wands! Children will learn the basic French ballet terminology and proper ballet technique in a fun, exciting, and creative environment designed especially for 3 - 6 year olds! .... And this is just the beginning!

After this first part of class, it’s the much-anticipated Storytime, dressing up in costumes related to that week’s story, followed by our enchanting storydances putting to use the ballet steps and technique the children have been studying in class.

Along with learning classical ballet steps and terminology, children will also develop skills in following directions, dancing with partners, rhythm, coordination, taking turns, and much more!

Delicate, hand-made costumes, beautiful props, stories, and drama are used in every fairytale ballet class to inspire creativity and imagination while being introduced to the magical world of classical ballet!

Ballerinas (ages 5 1/2 - 7) *Pre-Ballet

In this ballet class, students are introduced to basic barre exercises, as well as center work and progressions across the floor. An emphasis is put on proper alignment, classroom etiquette, French terminology, and ballet pantomime. Each semester students are introduced to two of the world's most treasured story ballets, such as Swan Lake, Nutcracker, and Sleeping Beauty! These ballet stories will be studied through literature, choreography, and classical music. Students will then present two mini performances, in costume, at the studio. In each class, students will also have an opportunity for creative expression through free dance, with special props and accessories, such as tambourines, ribbons, tiaras, and flowers.
